Lieutenant Robert Vincent began his most recent assignment in November of 2003
as commander of the Investigative Services Division after serving briefly as the Interim Chief of Police.
Before that, and since 2001, Lieutenant Vincent was the Patrol Division Commander.
He has held many positions including Patrol Sergeant, School Resource Officer, and Youth Resources Officer since joining the Gulfport Police Department in 1994. He also serves as an adjunct instructor for St. Petersburg College and as an assessor for the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation.
Lieutenant Vincent has a Bachelor of Arts, Magna cum Laude, from the University of South Florida and a Graduate Certificate in Criminal Justice from the University of Virginia. He is currently enrolled in USF's criminal justice master's program, expecting to complete his degree this summer. Lieutenant Vincent is also a graduate of the 227th Session of the FBI National Academy.
