Josh Stone, who was promoted to the rank of lieutenant after five years of distinguished service as a sergeant, is now the professional standards lieutenant. Lieutenant Stone grew up in Gulfport, and he has been with the agency since 2001.
Lieutenant Stone's most recent assignment was as supervisor of the professional standards section, where he was recognized for leading the agency through a successful reaccreditation period. In this role, he was also responsible for internal affairs, policy development, training, and applicant selection. Lieutenant Stone has also served as a detective and as a patrol supervisor during his career.
A graduate of the University of South Florida, Stone has a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminology.
