Each December, the command staff recognizes the officer, member, or unit who has made the most significant contributions to the mission of the department during the preceding year. The following is a roll of honor for those who have received this distinquished award during their careers.
In 1998 and in 2002, the award was given to a unit as opposed to an individual. When this occurs, each member is awarded a meritorious service medal.
