Fight Ends In Stabbing

On January 6th, at approximately 3:30 AM, Gulfport officers were dispatched to the

Pontiac Apartments, located at 4901 29th Avenue South.  A 911 caller reported a

fight in progress in the alley just north of the apartment building, and when officers arrived, they found 38-year-old William Fitzgearl with stab wounds to his leg and back.

Witnesses identified 43-year-old Bradley Maschino of Gulfport as the assailant.  Maschino was arrested for aggravated battery, and he is currently being held at the Pinellas County Jail with $20,000 bond.

The motivation for the fight is still under investigation, but both men were apparently intoxicated at the time.

Fitzgearl remains in critical condition.
