Gulfport Motorcycle Crash Results in Two Persons Taken to Hospital
Gulfport, FL - Late Wednesday night Gulfport Police responded to a two motorcycle crash in the 5900 block of Gulfport Boulevard. Both riders were taken to Bayfront Medical Center with significant injuries. According to witnesses, the two motorcycles were riding east at a high rate of speed when they approached the curve at 59th Street. The Suzuki motorcycle ridden by Marcello Ciampolillo of Belleair slid out of control causing the rider of the Yamaha motorcycle ridden by David Heyveld of Largo, to slide out of control as well. Both riders struck the south curb of Gulfport Boulevard east of 59th Street. Both victims are currently at Bayfront Medical Center in stable condition. The east bound lanes of the 5900 block of Gulfport Boulevard were shut down for approximately two hours while officers investigated the crash scene.
