7/7/14--Woman Arrested with Drugs and Harmful Chemicals

Gulfport, FL--Patrol Officer Samantha Obrart conducted a traffic stop this morning on a pickup truck that was exceeding the speed limit by 18 miles per hour in the 6000 block of Gulfport Blvd., and she subsequently arrested the driver, Jessica Leigh Odell (DOB 8/3/83) on numerous drug charges. Odell was found to be transporting 20 canisters of nitrous oxide, one of which was in an otherwise empty whip-cream dispenser, a device commonly used for the unlawful inhalation of the substance. Officers also found marijuana and un-prescribed Xanax in Odell’s possession.

Odell is currently in the Pinellas County jail with the following charges:

Possession of harmful chemical substances—felony

Possession of a controlled substance (marijuana)—misdemeanor

Possession of a controlled substance (Xanax)—felony

Possession of drug paraphernalia—misdemeanor

Violation of probation—misdemeanor

Police have also initiated the process to seize Odell’s 2002 Dodge Ram truck under the Florida Contraband Forfeiture law.
