05/25/2010 - Allegation of sex in a classroom initiates an investigation at Boca Ciega High School

Gulfport, Florida - On Monday May 24th an 18 year old student told a math teacher that he had sex in a school classroom with a 17 year old female student on Friday May 21, 2010.  The teacher then alerted the School Resource Officer Steven Beltran who notified Principal Paula Nelson and Gulfport Police Detectives due to the possibility of criminal charges.  The police investigation has determined that the two students did have sex in an unoccupied classroom, but at this point there are no criminal charges.  There were no other witnesses to the incident.  According to the statements of both students they did admit to having sex in the classroom.  Furthermore, evidence of sexual activity was found in the classroom. The parents of both students were notified.  At this time the investigation continues
