Subject: Gulfport Shooting
Date: 08/10/24
Location: 4900 block of 8th Ave S, Gulfport, FL 33707
Narrative: On 08/10/24 at approximately 3:22am, Gulfport police officers were dispatched to the area of 8th Ave S and 49th St S reference gunshots heard. Officers arrived and determined at least 2 people were shot. Both victims were attended to and transported to Bayfront for further care. 49th St and 8th Ave S was blocked off to traffic for several hours but is now re-opened to the public.
The preliminary investigation has proven that multiple people and multiple vehicles are involved in this incident.
Victim #1:
21 year old male with a Gulfport address
Victim #2:
19 year old male with a St Petersburg address.
It is believed there is at least one other person shot/injured in this incident.
At the time of this writing, there are no fatalities, however, at least one of the victims is in critical condition. This is an active ongoing investigation and additional information will be released accordingly. The Gulfport Police Department asks anyone with information pertaining to this incident to contact dispatch at 727-582-6177.
