Address: 1208 55th Street South, Gulfport

Charge: Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling

PINELLAS COUNTY – On Friday, April 2, 2021, officers with the Gulfport Police Department responded to 1208 55th Street South to a report of an armed person. The victim called law enforcement after 34-year-old Kyle South fired several rounds into the victim’s residence.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was called to assist after South barricaded himself and refused to exit.

Deputies assigned to the Negotiator Response Team made contact with South who surrendered peacefully and uninjured after a nearly five hour stand-off.

Young has been charged by Gulfport officers with Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling and will be booked into the Pinellas County Jail.

The victim was uninjured and the investigation continues.
