Subject:               Arrest for Attempted Homicide and Armed Burglary
Date:                   04/05/20/20

Narrative

Gulfport, FL—  On 04/04/20, Gulfport police officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of 48th St S reference a stabbing.  On arrival, officers located the victim in a large pool of blood.  The victim sustained a severe laceration to his arm causing arterial bleeding.  Officers quickly used a tourniquet to control the bleeding which likely saved the victim’s life.

The suspect had fled the scene prior to police arrival.   Detectives were contacted and during the investigation it was determined that the suspect stabbed the victim due to a lover’s quarrel with a 3rd person.  The suspect came to the victim’s residence and entered into the home uninvited.  He contacted the victim inside and proceeded to stab him with a large knife that he apparently brought to the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital to undergo surgery for his injuries.  He is currently in stable condition.

The suspect was located and detained in Marion County Florida by local law enforcement.  An arrest warrant was obtained and he is currently in the Marion County jail facing 1 count of attempted homicide and one count of armed burglary.
